OKRs Tool supports three levels of OKRs that mirror your organisation's hierarchy.

Organisation OKR

The company-wide objective. Sits at the top of the Alignment Map and everything else connects to it. You should have 1-3 Organisation OKRs per cycle — ideally just one that the whole company rallies around.

Department OKR

A department-level objective that supports the organisation OKR. For example, your Engineering department might have an OKR contributing to the company's growth objective. Connect it to the Organisation OKR in the Alignment Map.

Team OKR

A team-level objective within a department. For example, the Frontend team within Engineering might have a specific OKR around product quality. Connect it to the Department OKR above it.

The hierarchy

Organisation → Department → Team → Individual KR ownership

Each level supports the level above it. This is what makes OKRs powerful — everyone can see how their work connects to what the company is trying to achieve.

Keep it simple

You don't need all three levels to start. Many small teams just use Organisation OKRs with individual KR ownership. Add department and team OKRs as you grow.
