Build your team structure
OKRs Tool lets you organise your workspace into departments and teams. This structure determines how OKRs cascade and who can see what.
Departments and teams
There are two levels of structure below the organisation:
- Departments — top-level groups such as Marketing, Engineering, or Sales. Departments contain teams.
- Teams — smaller working groups within a department. Members belong to teams.
Creating a department
Go to Settings → Teams & Departments. Click + Add department, give it a name, and save.
Creating a team
In the Teams section, click + Add team. Give the team a name and assign it to a department using the dropdown on the team row.
Adding members to a team
Click Members on any team row to add or remove people. Members can belong to more than one team.
OKR types and structure
When creating an OKR, the type you choose determines where it sits in the hierarchy:
- Organisation — company-wide goals
- Department — goals for a specific department
- Team — goals for a specific team
- Individual — personal goals for a single person
Good to know
You can connect OKRs across levels using the parent OKR feature. A team OKR can be connected to a department OKR to show how team work supports the bigger picture.
